Media Statement: Alberta Wildfires

Wednesday, May 4, 2016
RSA Canada is currently monitoring the unfolding situation in Alberta.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those directly impacted by the Fort McMurray wildfires. We understand an evacuation order is still in effect and all residents must follow instructions from local authorities.

Our teams are currently reaching out to policy holders in the affected areas to check on their safety and offer them advice and support.

For evacuation and general damage updates, clients are advised to check the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Facebook facebook.com/rmwoodbuffalo or Twitter twitter.com/rmwoodbuffalo. Updates are also being broadcast locally on CBC 740 Radio.

If in the state of emergency, we’re advising people to call RCMP dispatch on 780-788-4000 or the Canadian Red Cross Alberta at 1-888-350-6070 to locate any family members or loved ones.

RSA customers can also call 1 800 319 9993 with any questions. Johnson Insurance customers can call 1 844 229 1272 with any questions. More information about making a claim is available here: http://www.rsagroup.ca/make-claim.
