RSA MEDIA STATEMENT - Alberta Wildfires - Update

A team of adjusters from RSA Canada are on the ground in Edmonton, Alberta to help customers impacted by the Fort McMurray wildfires.

The team will be providing support, handling claims and handing out emergency funds to help impacted customers with immediate financial needs.

“This is a very traumatic time for those in the Fort McMurray area and we are doing everything we can to minimize the disruption to the lives of our customers and ease their heartache as much as possible,” Rowan Saunders, President and CEO RSA Canada says.

“Our thoughts are with those impacted. We are here for them,” Saunders says. “In a situation like this, safety is the number one priority and we are urging everyone to follow the advice of authorities.”

“We have maximized our call capacity for both property and auto claims and have brought on additional adjusters to help with the increased demand,” Saunders says.

Customers in the impacted area are urged to stay up to date with the latest advice and warnings via the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Facebook facebook.com/rmwoodbuffalo or Twitter twitter.com/rmwoodbuffalo. Updates are also being broadcast locally on CBC 740 Radio.

Customers are advised to call RCMP dispatch on 780-788-4000 or the Canadian Red Cross Alberta at 1-888-350-6070 to locate any family members or loved ones.
