In June 2015, three RSA teams participated in a 12 hour overnight Relay for Life event at the historic Garrison Common in downtown Toronto, on behalf of Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC). Two RSA teams were in the top 10 in terms of funds raised benefitting the Canadian Cancer Society.

In September 2015, nine employees from the Johnson West Regional Office in Edmonton grabbed shovels and gloves and headed to the West Edmonton Callingwood Treestand area to plant just over 100 shrubs as part of their annual tree planting day.

RSA encourages its employees to give back to the community and provides two paid days off per year for volunteering with a Canadian registered charity. In July 2014, the RSA Internal Audit team, along with a few other RSA colleagues from Risk and Lifestyle marketing, demonstrated their culinary skills and cooked up a delicious meal for approximately 135 people at the Ronald McDonald House in Toronto.
